Argan Oil hair treatment Boots

My hair was in need of some TLC, queue Argan oil. If you are a regular reader you will be fully aware of all the colour changes my hair has had to endure, being brown to red to purple it was in an ok condition but since obviously bleaching the heck out of it, it has become a split end frizzy mess.

I have been searching for a product that would at least control the frizz to tame it slightly. I worked my way through several brands of shampoo and conditioner all claiming to reduce the sign of split ends and frizz. All of which failed miserably, the only thing they did do was to make my hair ultra shiny. Looking online for what i wanted to be some miracle product that would calm these effects, i completely forgot about the whole blogging community. Searching countless amounts of website and having no luck what so ever. I finally remembered about my blog as i had completely neglected it and decided to visit some of my old favourite bloggers and see if they could help, first one i visited (can’t remember who it was now) and the answer was there Argan oil/Moroccan oil, it had rave reviews on all blogs i visited. I honestly did feel like i was living under a rock having not even heard of it!

Argan Oil claims to nourish and rejuvenate dry and damaged hair, helping to smooth and eliminate frizz giving protection and shine for all hair types whilst reducing drying time by up to 50%. It comes in a 100ml bottle costing £12.99 and can be found in all Boots stores.

I thought the claims were bold, and i would be completely satisfied if it only did live up to one of these claims as long as the frizz was tamed slightly i would be happy. To apply this product it states for short hair to use 2-3 pumps and longer hair 4-5 pumps, distributing evenly through towel dried hair. The product itself is a clear oil that is a really thin consistency, it also smells lovely, I'm awful at describing smells so I'm not going to even try!

Progression as drying, hopefully you can see how relaxed the ends are looking

So this is exactly what i did, i choose to let my hair dry naturally to test out the claim for drying time, which in my opinion is no different it still took just as long as normal to dry. I am pleased to say it doesn’t make your hair feel at all heavy or sticky which i thought it might do being an oil product. Instead i was extremely happy with the results, my frizz is well tamed and split ends a lot less noticeable. Also an added bonus is my hair feels a lot thicker. I have been using this product for just over a month now, washing my hair every 2 days as usual and applying the product without fail, it is the perfect saviour!

What do you use to tame your frizz?
Any other brands work just as well?

  1. This is my favorite hair product. I have relaxed course hair and this keeps my hair frizz free though out the day. I also use it when I flat iron to make it sleek straight and shiny. Beware of using too much, a little goes along way with this product.
